Mostrar en un sólo cd o en una sola sesión la escencia de la música dance, aquella que hace vibrar los clubs alrededor del mundo no es sencillo, más aún si se quiere hacer compatibilizando los sonidos más básicos del house y los beats potentes del trance, pero Ministry of Sound con este album lo hace impecablemente, desde los deliciosos sonidos de Full Intention hasta los bajos fuertes de Norman Bass, sin olvidar la tranquilidad que conlleva el estilo de Jakatta y la irreverencia de Brother brown, los vocals clásicos de Shannon o la sensualidad de Iio y la melancolía de Lost Witness, no cabe duda que este es un infaltable para cualquier fanático de la escena dance.

Delerium

This band has become an essential sound for me, I still remember the first time I heard their track "Truly", after that I found "Silence", "After all" and I couldn't stop listening, so this is why I post a little selection of their tracks for those who still haven't met them.

Biography

A joint effort by Rhys Fulber and former Front Line Assembly bandmate Bill Leeb, Delerium has produced some of the most unusual sounds to emanate from Vancouver, Canada. With Leeb responsible for finding samples, writing lyrics, creating bass lines, sequencing, and overseeing the project and Fulber handling the sampling and programming, and using a chords/string pad to craft additional melodies and arrangements, the group's sound is a dance-inspiring mix of electronics and post-industrial attitude.

Although he initially attracted attention as a member of several cyberpunk/industrial bands, Fulber took a more ambient dance approach with Delerium. The group found success with its 1997 debut album, Karma, which sold more than a quarter of a million copies and included a major club/dance hit, "Silence," that reached number three in the United Kingdom, number one in Ireland, number four in Belgium, and number five in Australia.

With the members of Delerium separating in the mid-'90s, Fulber produced albums by P.O.D., Sarah Brightman, David Foster, and Fear Factory. The band reunited in 2001 and released Poem followed by Chimera two years later.

Not only because of the Dj

When it comes to house music we usually talk about dj’s who happen to be producers and writers, but not singers, that’s why most of the times the success of a track for them comes from powerfull vocals, the lyrics doen’t make it all, it’s the strength, the sweetness or melancholy that vocalists put into it, so here are four of the greatest voices on house scene:

Laura Vane, great vocalist, this girl has funk and soul oozing from every part of her and she’s had some dance releases on labels such as Ministry, Soulfuric, Device, Big Love, Toolroom, Juicy and Ink, adding her voice to wonderfull tracks from artists like Dave Spoon, Robbie Rivera and Mj Cole. Her voice is not just amazing, it is distinctive, charged with sexual energy and sounds effortlessly cool.

Katherine Ellis is one of the most respected and versatile vocalists, Katherine's reputation for her sweet vocals continues growing, she has already worked with some of the biggest names in music including Roger Sanchez, The Ruff Driverz, Raven Maize aka Joey Negro, Soul Avengerz, Lee Coombs, Dylan Rhymes, J-Reverse, Noir and Soul Flava, The Freemasons, Herd & Fitz, Tom De Neef, Tom Stephan, Bimbo Jones, Lee Coombs and Dylan Rhymes. An extremely talented writer, Katherine has co-written several hits including ‘If you wanna / The salsoul nugget’ by M & S presents The girl next door and Fascinated by Raven Maize, and she's written the toplines for Dreaming by the Ruff Driverz, Insatiable by Mark Knight and Salty by to name a few.

Lisa Pure, at an early age she realized she wanted to be on stage, she spent her youth in school productions, choir and church. Stealth Records signed her and she’s been touring with Roger Sanchez being a member of the S band, performing live and showing the amazing voice she owns. Lisa has worked with some of the biggest names in House music.

Kathy Brown is a dance music from South Carolina, she scored #1 success as the lead singer of Praxis before having stateside dance hits on her own. In 1999 she climbed on the charts with "Joy" and in 2004 was the credited lead vocalist on the British act Soul Central’s "Strings of life (Stronger on my own), she has also participated with many dj’s adding her recognizable style to many productions.
